Kristen Stewart inspired make-up tutorial

One of my very recent tutorials was inspired by the visual from this 'interview' magazine cover!

I used the Urban decay black palette which is one of my favourite palettes for creating more gothic looks, the black e/s called black dog is super pigmented!

Here is the visual i used for inspiration..

Here's the tutorial- Hope you like it :)

A little halloween fun...

I am sooo sorry this post is a little late...I seem so have been really busy working and taking the boys to all their Halloween parties (it's been our Oct half term holidays)I've not had chance to update my blog..didn't want to neglect it either so am very happy I'm back on it again this evening!

So here's just a little post which is kind of Halloween related and kind of makeup related!
Here's the vampire/gothic look I did for Halloween as a tutorial on YouTube..  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Inoqitdv2F0

and here's my other slightly less scary little ones..all dressed up for their first Halloween party of the week!
Logan obviously thinks Ashton looks hilarious..not at all scary!

Just a short update post..will be back on board as soon as with my products of the month and a few other rambles xxxox

So i did what most of the make-up loving population did...and got NAKED!

Can't say it wasn't inevitable! (hang my head in shame...;) )

In my hours of pain (long story..will try to get as much out of it as I can as it was really, truly, painful..)

I desperately hoped for some sort of distraction..so when on facebook, debenhams and HOF (pet name from working at house of fraser) were saying the Urban Decay Naked palette was available online..I HAD to have a look. Bearing in mind my family thought I was about to run off to A & E and admit myself (seriously worse than childbirth pain ;)) I had to sneakily try and see if I could save myself from the torment and cheer myself up with this beautiful item..

Sorry to say, they had all sold out, however, once the antibiotics started to work, my lovely husband took me out for our 3 year anniversary meal (although I still couldn't eat or drink for that matter....and was on a curfew for when I required more pain relief) ..yet, we sat across the table from each other, john ordered his and my meal (mostly so he could eat mine if I couldn't manage).
It was actually, well, lovely! Not much different from our first dates where I refused to eat in his presence just in case I looked silly/got food stuck in between my teeth/other vain reasons!! Not a bad diet..oh dear...I digress..

While trying to decide which film to watch and needing a 'pain killer taking break' we headed over to boots, for a non essential purchase of tweezers..??! and although I was pacing up and down the isles in total agony from said pain killers ( i know, weird) I saw it...well, three of them, sat on a lonely shelf!

Okay, embarrassingly, I could hardly speak but when I saw a lady in front of me picking one up, I casually (ahem) grabbed the other two...muttering something under my breath about how she'd regret it if she didn't buy it NOW!

So, to cut a verrrrry long story short, I have it! and LOVE it..! Of course!

Will soon upload some pics of Friday's look I did, Kim Kardashian inspired! x0x0x

It's been faaar too long since I last blogged..

I've been really busy during wedding season and have LOVED every minute of it!

Only thing is, it's only left me time to look after my two boys, clean brushes, buy more makeup..ummm not all that bad then!

A little photo of my lovely friend Nicola, who inspired my rant about my love for these foundations, she really has the best skin!!

So, mainly as I've been meaning to blog about some of my favourite products for a month now, I thought I'd start with my Chanel foundations and bronzer..

I've had these in my kit for over a year now and love them so much have just re-purchased pro Lumiere in 20, vitalumiere in 30 and pro Lumiere in 50 to have a reasonable range to mix. It was purely indulgent but I added the bronze universel to my purchase, mainly as I've always wanted it and I figured, hey, it's the summer, I may have a tan (yes, from st tropez and xen tan ) so will get my use out of it!

I love all of the 'lumiere' products but 'pro' and 'vita' variety's seem to work the best for me, although I would certainly say the 'matt' and 'lift' are good too, for different skin types.

So..what do I love about them?? well, I can't ever forget Sam on my pixiwoo/fashionface course explaining why these work so beautifully but be it the correct explanation (or not too accurate) here is my way of explaining- Pro lumiere is a medium coverage foundation which gives a luminous finish. Something to do with 'spherical particles, bouncing light, flawless skin, you know) Do not be fooled into thinking this is not for those of us who have vaguely oily t zones, it's nothing a little bit of powder can't eliminate!

It is truly beautiful, I like to think of it as a second skin for my face, but a whole lot clearer and more glowing! If it's natural, flawless and glowing skin you're after..I would say give this a try! Below is a (rather bad) pic of me..with Pro lumiere 20 on..possibly some translucent powder over t zone. My skin is really not the most perfect either so you can see how good I think it is at evening and perfecting everything..

In the picture below I have more of a tan, so this is vitalumiere in 30. Equally as lovely as pro, but a little more sheer and glowy, so if you prefer a slightly lighter finish, or have dry skin, this is beautiful!

I can very definitely say I cannot imaging ever being the right colour for 50 (unlike my gorgeous friend Nicola who has such a beautiful warm bronzed tone to her skin) however it is a good colour to use to add a little in to my other foundations to match up the colour depending on tan. On the pic below I added a tiny pump of 50 to my 20, and it just added a nice warmth to the colour.

There you have it..a few of my most certain 'cannot live without' items..

Do you have any favourites cannot live without items??! xx0x

MAC haul and a rare night out!

I've been watching faaar too many hauls recently and have had a MAC wishlist for so long! Nothing very exciting but i've been meaning to make an effort with my MAC eyeshadow collection so that I can start the de-potting process, so finally.. with the intention of 'kit replenishment for bridal work' (not that I need any excuses) I was so excited, I know, not at all cool, but with another make-up fan at my side we were on a mission..
first call starbucks for a caramel machiatto with whipped cream...OH SO BAD! but so yummy!
I'm sorry the pics are no way in order, I'm yet to get to grips with uploading loads of pics!

Okay, so back to front..here is me, with the make-up on, for my yummy mummy night out (lol..I know, but you have to love the term)

Kristen Stewart inspired make-up, messy, muddy smokey make-up.. been a little too obsessed with twilight since my 'twilight week' of all 3 books and films in a week.

Messy is actually a much harder look to achieve than i thought!

so back to the haul (sorry for the confusion!) here are the beautiful shadows..i know, not all that exciting, you've probably all had them for ages, but i've been too busy marvelling at other products till recently..

oooh...love this...tanya of pixi2woo has raved about this combined with vanilla pigment and i'm afraid i'm I can't help myself if someone says it's so good. Gorgeous strong rosey pink, leaving a glowy, pretty cheek!

swatch of eyeshadows

pre-de-pot!

two arguably boring pigments but I LOVE them, so versatile, for eyes, cheekbones, brow bon, mixed with moisturiser for a gorgeous skin sheen! yummy!

another pixi2woo favourite, I have hush and a few other highlighters but this one always looks so beautiful on her tutorials.

The lot of them..ooh I had lots of fun with these! xx
